My Story
Hi there, I am Kris Miller. Welcome to Holding Stillness. I am so happy that you are here.
I have been a bedside nurse for over two decades now, as a Maternal Newborn Nurse and a Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse. My nursing practice has given me a dynamic, professional experience in both the happiest and heaviest of life transitions.
What I found to be true is that there is not enough time in the hospital setting to really emotionally and psychosocially hold space for my patients in the way they need or desire. I found that the teaching support was present, but the space to listen to and really tend to questions and concerns, as well as implement patient education, was a short window of time. It’s not surprising that some patients who needed care and support slipped through the cracks.
There is no specific timeline for postpartum recovery, grief, or addiction recovery. I am specifically interested in and uniquely qualified to support you during these complicated life transitions on your own terms. Now, more than ever, our physical, emotional and psychological support needs are increasingly changing.
I have experienced some of the harder transitions in life. I have moved through my own experiences with, grief, postpartum depression and addiction recovery. My specialized credentials and experiences create a formidable support space to help you with your own personal journey. Through implementing strength based practices, positive psychology, personalized self care and mindfulness practices, together we will create individualized pathways and patchwork’s to help you discover balance.
